Introduction

Post by vtwillys »

Hi,

Just retired guy who likes playing with toys that move. Located on n New England US. A proud grandfather of 3 and married to the love of my life.

Do a little track day here and there with one of our fast little cars. Waiting for snow so I can lay on my snowmobile.

Long time WWII buff mostly books. Found RC tanks 2 weeks ago and now have 2 HL tanks, M4A3 and a Tiger 1. Fun little tanks. Now trying to dive into mods and weathering. Lots and lots of new skills to learn.

Welcome from Ontario, Canada! No snow here as well which is bizarre. I was near Sudbury in Northern Ontario for the last week and they are snowless as well. The snowmobilers are going bonkers!
Those are two nice HLs to have with tons of aftermarket stuff available, and loads of references to use. Let the games begin!
So.....the "willys" part of your username--you have one? Your name is Willy? You just like Jeeps? I gotz ta know!

 Hello, vtwillys: RCTW is full of us old guys playin' with toys, so you are in the right spot. And we are all at various stages of learning to do modeling and electronic modifications, so there are all kinds of questions and amazing knowledge (not mine). Don't hesitate to jump in with questions, successes, frustrations, etc. Thank you, too, for posting the photos right away.

Bwahahaha :haha: :haha: :haha: See now I knew there was a reason I needed to get a Sherman. Like buying goldfish for my piranha.

Thanks for the note back on my post. Yes I have a 47 Willys CJ2A and live in the little state of Vermont. I have purchased some reference books for information and inspiration on color schemes and unit markings etc.

Nice! My son just purchased a '43 Ford GPW that will be our project for the next few years, so whenever I see "Willys" my Jeep-dar gets activated for info.

Yes, please if you could post a pic of your '47...and perhaps Ad Lav could post his M38, too?! ;)
