This is coming on well Anton. John is an excellent producer of parts. Used him, and despite an initial issue with my order, which was quickly resolved, I will happily use him again.

Praise from the Tiger Master, Jimster is praise indeed.

The things we do for authenticity. Hell, I'm going overboard on a Movie Prop tank of a fictional character. What, the hell, wrong with me????? :haha:

Great watching this thread Chef and your build come together on a daily basis  . Like I said I'm in the midst of a Taigen late Tiger 1. Obviously I'm not detailing it out like your build but I've done a couple of tanks like that and since mine are all IR battlers it's painful when all your hard work gets knocked off in the heat of battle so I try to just make them look authentic enough to pass but also rugged enough to handle having the crap beat out of them on a weekly basis. I finished the base camo as I wanted to get it done while it was surprisingly warm out for ventilation but now the build is basically stopped as I wait for a month or so for parts, electronics and markings etc. So it's just filters, varnishes and the like until probably February when I can finish it off.

Thank you Ian. Yes John is good people.

So I investigated a bit more into the smoky exhaust thing.

I went to Autozone and picked up a foot of vacuum hose for $1.99 and a few packs of different sized and angled connectors.

Image

turns out 5/32" or 4mm hose is the perfect fit. It is flexible and easy to cut and fix.

Image

So I trimmed the white connectors to fit. And did a few connections to see how things smoke-

Then I thought about the open back of the stack and how I wanted the smoke to come out of the top where the puffer caps are supposed to be,

I took it all apart and snugged some black electrical tape on the stacks.

Image

I used a pick and punched guide holes for mounting the shrouds.

Image

Now you can see it coming out of the holes at the top

So there she is smoking away. :D Thank you for your support and suggestions.

Oh it wasn't a keystroke error: Singular- "Tigger". A group would be an "Ambush" of "Tiggers".

Hopefully it will be completed for the field opening in April and I will post it up then. Rather than cluttering up the Show Off thread and also just because of the sheer amount of Tiger 1's I'm sure forum members own we could perhaps have a Tiger 1 gallery thread. I have 4 now if you include my Sturmtiger, Tamiya early,Taigen mid and late versions
