Overall a great looking Tiger.
Thanks Herman. To be honest it never bothered me because, Well, I didn't really know any better, and I had it Cammo'd so it wasn't glaring to me. Now that it's off I notice the difference.

Its the "knowing better "that also makes a difference.
With an almost unlimited resource of reference material available for the Tiger, its amazing what can be done just by knowing whats right-ish and whats plain wrong out of the box.
Then its all about pulling it off to get the look.
Its frustrating (well it is for me) to look at a wonderfully presented model that clearly has has a lot of love put into it, let down by avoidable aspects that detract from the final finish.
One of my little pet-hates is stowage attached by gravity !!!

Thanks for putting yours up mate, looking forward to your ongoing input & entertainment :P

I appreciate this mate. Yeah the, stowage held up by gravity get's me as well. That's why I did the research to hang the tracks right. When you said" Its frustrating (well it is for me) to look at a wonderfully presented model that clearly has has a lot of love put into it, let down by avoidable aspects that detract from the final finish." You put it in a way that ,others were saying, but didn't have the words. All of these helpful critiques have brought this model to where it is today. Sadly, HL puts all this correct detail in their expensive models, when they could do the same for the cheaper ones. This being said, I'm used to Kit building, where every detail is correct, you just have to follow the directions. This one was "Undoing" what the factory did. It's new territory for me, but with all the help I've received in this community, I'm growing as a restorer/modeler.

Its pretty convenient to have a reasonable base model to start with, but as you say when compared to most kits, these things have a lot of work to undo before getting them up to something plausible. The H/L glue monkey is another variable that we contend with, Taigen metal turrets that cannot be finessed, every brand & breed has its things to fix.
A degree of compromise on these has to be accepted & worked into the build, static kits dont move, dont need battery changes, dont run into things, RC models require internal maintenance and access, smoke fluid, speakers, gearboxes etc, all of that which affect the way we build them and to a degree influence the look they end up with.

Exactly. As I can ,truly, appreciate these super modelers, I also know "personally" I don't want to go that far with something that , at the end of the day, is still a toy. It's going to get bashed about. So, in this case i feel, less is more. It won't hurt as much when I damage it.

Sage words from the knowledgeable Mr Bix.
Congratulations Chris on taking the plunge. A free improvement. The more you know the faults you see, but as you say it’s still a toy. These are made for the toy market, and the average Joe that buys these , it looks like a tank, so therefore it is a tank. If had received one of these on my tenth birthday I would have been a happy bunny and just played with it.

Exactly. I got my first HL tank about 16 years ago and was thrilled with it. Because back then there were no real RC tanks, unless you built your own or wanted to spend $$$$$100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.00 on the Tamaya Flak panzer kit. The affordable option was a radio Shack Sherman. These are a great base to start with, but it takes work to go from Toy Grade to Hobby/collector grade. My problem was having to do all these mods , After, I painted and weathered it. That being said, It'll be easier to do the next ones when they're straight out of the box.
