T72 gun mantle.
I am converting the T72 for the winter build to recoiling gun barrel. I am trying to find out how the canvas weather guard on the gun mantle works. It it attached to the gun, and compresses when the gun is fired? Or does the gun slide through it. I have been trying to find some live action videos of the gun firing , however they are not clear to discern how it all works.

I, too, and worrying about the covering on my Winter Build T26E3, so I am eager to learn from Meter Rat's question.

From this pic you can see that on the T72 specifically, the gun cover does not move when the gun is fired. If you look closely, it has legs that attach it to the mantlet and the gun sleeve. Look behind the spotlight actuation arm.
