After years of lusting after a 251 D(version TBA) they are released.
I wargamed these what seems like centuries ago, and since my evolution into the 16th scale, have held a passionate desire to have a 251 in this scale as an rc.
There seem to be a few options now , none of them cheap, but at least the Trumpeter recent release is justifiable and sensible, as it does not have complex engine or interior like the DW one does.
No point paying for bits you wont use eh.
I customised loads of Matchbox 1/76 and Esci 1/72 scale versions of the 251 to suit the porn need in me at the time and to fit the theme of the fleet of wargame AFV';s I had which was vast.
I like them that much.
Did a short tour in one at a museum in Poteau in 09(during my Honeymoon). Just up the road from the road that is famous/infamous from the newsreels at the BOTB.
Perhaps one day this too will be able to fulfill the need of a 251 honeymoon in 16th scale..................
Reminds me of a tune

I never thought much about the size, but it's much bigger than I expected. Yet I can see the challenge in doing a full R/C job on one.

Well, maybe if Mr. Bix gets off his duff and buys a 3D printer, he could print all the RC components he needs...

It will be a while Mr Mithras, lots to gather & prepare, plus the vital missing ingredients of a PaK40 and electronics.
I am going to do a /22 or a Stummel/ 9

I look forward to seeing what you come up with. I do enjoy a good self-propelled gun/autocannone/portee, etc.HERMAN BIX wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 8:59 amIt will be a while Mr Mithras, lots to gather & prepare, plus the vital missing ingredients of a PaK40 and electronics.
