So I think I messed up....
I had a long day out in the sun, and was tired while I was fiddling with my Elmod FusionX.
Stupidly, I had power connected to the board (with the correct fuse set up they use) and without thinking I plugged in a speaker into the slot.
The thing gave some sparks and I had a heart attack, I ripped out the battery straight away.
I looked it over, there doesn't seem to be any obvious signs of damage. It doesn't smell funny... however whenever I try to plug power back into the board the blue status LED doesn't come on and it no longer connects to my PC.
Have I royally screwed up and lost a lot of money here or is this something that can be repaired?
I've already sent an email to Elmod...
Have I just ruined my board? *solved*

Thomas will have to be the final arbiter, but I'd suggest that you won't like the size of the repair bill if he has to replace half of the parts.
Probably time to save up for a new one...

Re: Have I just ruined my board?
If it is possible - and economically viable - Elmod will repair the electronics.
To do this, the electronics must be sent to elmod for testing.
Elmod will then tell you whether it is worth it and what it will cost.

Good news!
Turns out it was just the 15A fuse that blew, I replaced it and it seems to be working fine again!

Whew! I like it when the lessons come at low cost.

I accidentally reversed the positive and negative after redoing some stuff. Turned it on, heard a pop. Thought I blew the board, but it just blew the fuse. That fuse is a lifesaver!

If your connectors allow you to connect reverse polarity, you should throw them away....
If you are so used to them, then solder a power diode into the gap of the RED wire, electronics engineers call this “protection from the stupid”, in many devices where this is possible there is just such protection...
