Just joined this afternoon so this is my first post. I suspect like a lot of people on here I did my fair share of Aixfix modelling as a kid. In my case this was in the late fifties, early sixties

Anyway a few weeks ago I was wandering round an antiques centre and spied a very nice 1/25 scale T34 tank. Not sure of the manufacturer but it looked very well put together and really caught my eye. After admiring it for a while we left the shop and thought no more about it. Fast forward a week or two and we were back in the centre having a coffee and to my surprise the model was still there but now marked up as 'half price'
It was then that something amazing happened. My wife said 'shall I go and find out how much it is'. Just for context this is right up there with 'never mind the gardening dear you go and play with your car' Asking no questions and striking while the iron was unbelievably hot I bought it on the spot and am very pleased with my purchase.
It now appears that this was the start of a slippery slope because while perusing the autojumble stalls at Beaulieu last week I saw what turned out to be a 1/16 scale Heng Long Tiger 1 and bought that as well!! It has been weathered to a fairly good standard by the previous owner and seems to be in very good condition, one or two small breakages aside.
So apparently I am now collecting large scale ready build model tanks

So that is about it from me, we will see what happens next

Bye for now
