UK Sellers of Heng Long Merkava?
UK Sellers of Heng Long Merkava?
Hi
I have been looking for, but not finding a seller in the UK of the Heng Long Merkava - preferably with metal tracks. Does anybody know where I can get one as I do not want to buy from outsode the UK and get hit by customs charges and rip off postage comapny fees?
Thanks

I wish you well getting one mate. I had the privilege of handling & running one 2 weekends ago & it was sensational.
I have already stated my interest of getting one, that was before I had the close encounter, now, its a burning desire !!
Hell of a thing to get looking right, but wow, once you do, its awesome.

Assuming Dave (Forgebear) hasn't got any try Andrew (Haya). Neither look to have any listed but....

German shops like rctank.de have it but unfortunately after Brexit shipping costs have more than doubled.

I have it on good authority that Forgebear isn't touching the HL Merk with a 10ft pole...

Re: UK Sellers of Heng Long Merkava?
At first I was wary about Toucan Hobby ("Color Never Fade" and maybe more names). However, over the past decade, I have bought four (or more
) tanks from Toucan Hobby, some from U.S. stock, some from China, no problem. I recently got my Merkava from Toucan. Since Chinese sellers depend so much on worldwide shipping maybe (maybe
) the shipping charges wouldn't be too bad. Here's the URL for the Merkava selection available to me here in the US, maybe the same for the UK. https://www.toucanhobby.com/search?q=Me ... ix%5D=last

Re: UK Sellers of Heng Long Merkava?
Thanks for all the pointers and thoughts guys, much appreciated.
I did message Dave at Forgebear and Andrew at Haya but Dave is on his hols by the look of it and Andrew says they will have none this year so not looking good as options I am afraid
I noticed the seller Toucan Hobby so will check them out as well as another one I-Love-TeaTime who I have used in the past for my 1:14th scale truck parts and who was helpful and reliable when I got stuff from them.
Will keep looking and no doubt get one some time.
Thanks

If it helps at all, I just got the Merkava from Toucan. Pro edition. I also have a new transmission coming from their china warehouse. I wanted to use a differential style transmission, which I think the tank should have come with standard.

Re: UK Sellers of Heng Long Merkava?
If you are at all familiar with the Tamiya Abrams or Leo 2A6, they have a differential style transmission . One motor drives the vehicle forward and reverse and the other steers. It is a fantastic design. So, DKLMRC has been selling one similar for some time, which is made for other manufacturer tanks. Now Heng Long has basically copied their design apparently. They do not have one listed for the Merkava specifically, but they do carry one. I had to pull teeth to get them to finally confirm it. So, I ordered one...and now I wait for it. But it is far better than the normal style gearboxes we are so used to. I will post a link to one similar, but NOT specified for the Merkava. For some odd reason the company is not yet advertising it. Mind you, there are three different "versions" of this style unit as well. One is all plastic. I was informed to run away! The next is a plastic case, with metal gears. I'm told this is a good unit. Then there is metal case with metal gears. No need for metal case at the cost. https://www.ebay.com/itm/234695906874?c ...
