M10 Achilles
I have so many photos of this thing I have decided to give it its own thread.
This started life as a built resin kit I bout 3 years ago. When it arrived the turret was smashed to bits and despite it being insured the seller wasn’t interested, my more spiteful nature took hold and I endeavoured to make sure he sold no more of his items. Soon after the listings were taken down.
When I look back at it now it was probably not the best thing to do but I had paid £300 for a built m10 with postage insurance due to it being fragile
How ever 1 year down the line after trying to repair the turret as a static piece it appeared at its first show.
2 years after that it’s a full runner it’s now has
A repaired old style green IBU pro
A Mato turret with 17pdr
Metal gearboxes
Metal tracks
Metal sprockets and idlers
Metal bogies and road wheels
It’s original HL hull
It’s original vandra cast top
Shapeways extras
DSG extras
And a died pillow case

Re: M10 Achilles
Next item for this that’s almost ready for print is my crew. It’s having the commander loader and gunner in there to hide the servos and wiring, photos will go up when they are printed

Re: M10 Achilles
I will be excited to see the crew you print! I have my
Mato M10 waiting in the wings for a re-build. You sure make me wish I had your skills.

Re: M10 Achilles
That's one hell of a resurrection! Very nicely done.

Re: M10 Achilles
They are the zis 3 with crew and rubber tyres. Well it’s a form of elastic resin but looks and feel like rubber. Can be posed and towed but not yet worked how to make them able to rc recoil. Unlike this

Re: M10 Achilles
The zis 3 are now painted with the tyres on but haven’t been unpacked yet following this weekends show. There’s also a 17pdr proto type aswell but I haven’t built or taken any photos of that yet
