Looking for advice for my first tank build.

Post by Soundboothguy »

Hello, recently I picked up a M41 Walker Bulldog from Tamiya. I was hoping that this could be my first rc tank build, and I was needing some advice. I've found some motors and an esc I believe would work, but I'm not completly sure. I thought about for the motors choosing 136rpm motors since I've heard those gave a decent scale looking speed. Here's the link to the motors and esc.

Esc: https://www.ebay.com/itm/354620576763?h ... BMhN6emKxi

I've got a radio and receiver out of a Axial SCX24 (Axial AE-6 RX is the name) which I was going to use for the controls. Also I'm having a a hard time figuring out how to cut the suspension off the hull for mounting the torsion bars, does anyone have some advice? I'm not trying to give it a functioning turret or sound or anything, I'm just looking to make it drivable. I apologize if I've asked a repeat question, and I'm looking forward to any advice you all might have. Thank you.

I am afraid that you will not get a lot of information about the modification of the model itself. 1/35 RC is a small niche and mainly enthusiasts deal with the motorisation of static models.

But check out this video:

Gotcha, thanks for the heads. I wasn't aware that this was such a small community until I tried to find tutorials for half this stuff :haha: . This video will defiantly get me a good ways though, thank you.

There is an experienced and skillful 1/24 and especially 1/35 RC modeler here on RCTW. Look for posts by modler. You can search that exact spelling in the search function at all he top right. See also makethemmove.com
