1/35 M10 with Vintage aircraft 72 mhz rc gear

I thought I might do a thread with about 7or8 of these Vintage rc aircraft radio systems but it would be kinda hard to do so I will do each model as an individual thread with sequential links. This is installment #2 M10

As discussed in installment #1 M41, modern ESC's and a "Tank mix" be it integrated or external with the ESC's will be used with the aircraft radio systems ( 72 mhz Transmitter, receiver)

Installment #1 has a Das Mikro 1s twin ESC with integrated Elevon mixer. This tread for the M10 uses a separate Elevon mixer circuit board with two 1s ESC's. So this project takes three seperate circuit boards for the ESC, mixer function.

These are Payne 1s or 3.3 up to 6v. 3.3v is the LVC. These are nice little ESC's that also have sounds to indicate status.

Here is the whole setup, 72mhz Micro Joule 4 channel Rx with Elevon mixer (throttle+Aileron input = Tank mix), two ESC's each driving a 4.3 ohm 130 motor. The wiring design includes a central located power source connector for even power distribution.

Micro Joule Rx with hard wired "Tank mixer" inputs. I eliminated connectors here at the mixer inputs so that Aileron stick movements are very accurate for excellent low speed track steering control

And there it is, another Vintage rc radio system put back in action. The radio gear "Micro Joule" was much sought after in the early 2000 and was kinda expensive, I am happy to see it back in action still earning its keep!

Cheap is as cheap does and this was not a cheap build at all.

With the modern new connectors, soldering materials wiring labour, x2 HiteK ESC's, "Tank mixer" with circuit board modified connectors, Rx to mixer inputs connectors eliminated or "Hardwired", The labour\time costs alone negate the value of function lol. But it is a hobby right?

Edit December 2023, Oh I forgot the "special antenna kit" for the Micro Joule RX. This kit has a micro wound coil circuit that allows a short length 72mhz Antenna for use in "Ultra Micro" RC planes and in this case...1/35 scale Tanks! To me,this setup despite it being a legacy setup works very well and with the individual building blocks combined to a new purpose or (gain of function lol) was and is a pleasure for me as a model hobbyist to incorporate into one of my prized military models as opposed to this formally prised Radio gear sitting in storage with no purpose. Isn't RC modeling wonderful I say
