Alternative board for HL 1/8 Metal Tiger I

Post by Muscleflex »

Hey guys - is there an alternative better MFU board I can use for my tank? A direct fit?
My tank is 24v (2x 12v SLA batteries)

I know of exactly zero MFUs that can run at 24V. If you wanted to use a controller from a small scale tank you would need a step down voltage regulator. You probably want to keep the drive motors running at 24V because if you ran the tank at 12V it probably would lose a lot of power and could possibly become pretty undrivable due to the weight.

Not trying to offend, but I've seen a lot of posts about this tank on various forums. What exactly about the tank are you so unhappy with? Any changes you make to this particular tank are not going to be plug and play because no one makes any aftermarket stuff for this tank. Any changes will most likely result in a bunch of rewiring of plugs or having to solder or crimping new connectors.

8O Hello, indeed, there does not seem to be a 24-volt MFU, especially Plug and play? On the other hand, on certain Elmod cards supplied with a maximum of 12 volts, and to add separate Escs to it, like the one in the attached link, but if others 24 volt motors, will it be easy to tune? and well afraid that the mixture of tensions, turns into a short circuit, and in the end will also increase the price? personal opinion

I know only Armortek Motion Control Module board which works with 24V out of the box but it's very expensive.

Thanks guys. The movement of the tank is not smooth so it’s not easy to drive it not steer it. I basically have to stop then pivot to turn in any direction. It doesn’t turn on the move smoothly

Hello,
Question ? it is not possible, to keep the original electronics, to have all the additional functions, and to install 2 Esc in relation to the intensity of the motors, directly on the RX? maybe stupid, what am I saying? ?but should work?
attached AMORTEK website link, see "Optional Kits" for details and prices
