Hello there
Hello there
Hello guys/gals im from wales and I’m really new to the hobby . Been 1/35 modelling for 25yrs plus . Recently came back from tankfest in bovington uk and one tank was calling me every time I walked passed the stall …
It’s an 1/16 heng long jagpanther!! Had to get it and now I’m a noob in the big league of owning a r.c tank .
I love it ! Looking to advice about upgrades that I could do to it etc .

Re: Hello there
Welcome, Ronskijay! I, too, was doing 1/35 AFVs and 1/48 aircraft until I saw a 1/16 U.S. Pershing. Since I had over forty years' experience with 1/16 farm toys and models, 1/16 just seemed right to me. What a way to go. I hope you enjoy your Jagdpanther (now that's a great one to start with). For starters, I'd do some research on the Jagdpanther (retired prof., it's a bad habit of mine) to see if I want to repaint, change markings, etc. As simple start is to use the search box in the upper right corner right on this (and almost every RCTW) page. "Jadgpanther" is going to bring you loads and loads of hits. As to mechanicals and electronics upgrades, this is the place for advice, but it's fun learning just to start with the stock HengLong equipment.
Re: Hello there
Thanks guys for warm welcome , the first thing I noticed was the markings were wrong , they had 4 numbers supplied and the Germans used 3 numbers only

Hello and welcome from the best Celtic nation. Be prepared. These guys will help you alright. To empty your wallet that is. You are entering a rabbit warren of deprivation and poverty.
Again welcome from the West Coast of Scotland.

Tankfest? Ugh I'm fatally jealous now.
Jagdpanther? Now you're talking my language. One of my favorite WWII Tank Hunters by far.
Show us some pictures when you get a chance. And yes the sticker markings may not be correct that are supplied but others can be had handily.
Enjoy the board, and your new RC addiction.

Re: Hello there
Hi and Welcome to the Forum

The first thing to do with any Heng Long Tank when you get it out of the box is to examine it for any damage if it is damaged or any part does not do what it should do UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES TRY TO FIX IT,
SEND IT BACK TO THE DEALER YOU BOUGHT IT FROM,
The second thing you must do is find the Decal Sheet and with as much strength as you can muster throw it into the nearest dustbin/trashcan,
They are rubbish,
Now charge the battery and run it and as I already said if something fails or just does not work back to the dealer with it.
Those numbers have nothing to do with any countrys tanks they are the Heng Long Product code for the particular model in the box.
Actually The SS did use 4 digit turret codes on their tanks but they are nothing like the Heng Long Decals.
Obviously you will need markings for your tank, you have the choice after researching your Jagdpanther to buy decals, I recommend Peddinghaus, very nice wide range but be careful they are delicate and come as a one piece sheet so each individual decal must be very carefully cut out from all the others on the sheet,
The other choice is to go to www.radindustries.wordpress.com/ who will provide you with Stencils to your own style or leave it to RAD who will send you a set of stencils for a lot less than the price of Peddinghaus decals ,
Worth remembering that every army uses stencils on the real thing.
By the way Rad is a valued member of this Forum and is one of the most helpful people you will ever know.
Ask lots of questions we will do our best to give you answers some of them might even be helpful.

I think I am about to upset someone

Welcome from Ontario, Canada!
Have fun with your new money pit! In a matter of days you'll be saying, "So what's all the fuss about these metal tracks people talk about?"
Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
Mike.
