ARVN Bulldog

Post by dgsselkirk »

This one is for you Hach! 🙂
Well, I wrapped this tank up. replaced the barrel with a scratch built one and fixed the periscopes as they were a mess. Outside of that not much else redone on the outside. Inside the lower hull has resin fil as usual. It is running on a TK40 Bulldog board. Has a large speaker in it from previous owner and a big metal block it is sitting on for front weight! TARR smoker but I have not run the hoses yet so smoker turned off in the video. Rewired lights, and various other wiring. Going to slow down the turret rotation, gotta check the one gearbox as it is a little noisy, but overall pretty pleased with it.
This is my interpretation of the South Vietnamese ARVN 111 Armoured Regiment M41 Walker Bulldog as it would have appeared in the 1972 Easter offensive. Drives real nice and did some battling with it today too! As always subscribe to my channel and check out all kinds of 1/16 RC Tank videos ... 🙂

Nice work! I have two Taigen Bulldogs, one painted and a bit weathered, one tucked in its box after initial check of the electronics and functionality. I have not fixed the driver's 'sky-scopes' nor the stiffeners on the fender toolboxes. Was the Bulldog ever produced with toolbox stiffeners as on the HengLong and Taiger/Torro models? My books only show the X-shaped stiffener pattern.

Another great job. I particularly like the paint and camo on this one.

Well done.

Sorry, I don't know a lot about these vehicles. I can tell you one thing, there is a LOT wrong on them! LOL!

Thanks Chef! I liked the camo too! I thought it might be a little too NATO before I weathered it but I think it is pretty accurate. Had to make the brighter green myself. Here is a pic before weathering.
