ive found the rear wheels seem to sit right over the Alan bolts so i cant get to them ? any ideas

I strongly suggest that you start a new topic with an appropriate title for what you need help with every time you have a new topic to deal with. Your topic of "painting" will not attract anyone to help you with the issue you are having.

I tried with the video above but as I said, None of my tanks are of the same design as yours is. I'm sure there is someone else who can help you.

If you asking how to remove the wheels prior to painting, then in the video provided by Mr Chef, at 1 minute 40 seconds, it shows the centre caps of the wheels being removed, using bent nose pliers. Remove the centre caps and you will find the screws which hold on the wheels as shown in the video. Yours may be glued in. If I remember, I will be removing the wheels on my Challenger over the weekend to pint them, the lower chassis and tracks. As suggested, if asking about paint I would star a new thread in Hints and Tips, under painting and weathering. If asking about dismantling you model, why not start a new thread under the relevant manufacturer, and show us what you have been working on. Oh! And photographs would help.

Can you post pictures? So we can see better what you are trying to accomplish. If you remove the rear wheels, then would that not then expose the offending Allen bolts? The video posted by Mr Chef is fairly self explanatory, and not having a Pershing it is difficult to understand what the problem is.

Can you post pictures? So we can see better what you are trying to accomplish. If you remove the rear wheels, then would that not then expose the offending Allen bolts? the video is good but he has the wheel ctrs off the wheel i dont want to take them off it would ruin the wheel so i need to undo a bolt that sits right under the wheel ive pulled the wheel side ways can get to it but the allen key slips .is the ctrs of the wheels glued on or not ? i dont use photo bucket

Are you referring to the road wheel center caps?



In this pic the rear most wheel to the right has a center cap or hub cap. The rest of the wheels show Under the Hub Cap where the Silver Screw is located to Remove the Wheel.



Here you see him using a socket Only to press the Wheel Center Cap or Hub Caps on by pressure and held on by friction.



Here the Road wheel Center Caps or Hub caps are reinstalled.



Here hopefully if you watched the full video you can see all of the Road Wheel Center Caps or Hub Caps reinstalled after he upgraded from plastic wheels and track to metal.

Usually Wheel Center Caps or Hub Caps are pressed in as shown in the video above and held in by friction.

BUT since this tank you have, If I remember Correctly from your other postings Here and Other Forums you just picked up from a shop, it didn't work and you didn't know it's previous history,,,

It is entirely possible that the previous owner glued or otherwise secured the Center Caps or Hub Caps On. Because they should Pry off as shown in the previous videos or using a flat head screwdriver without much issue.

Regardless unless someone else with experience with this particular model and issue chimes in, (again why it's a good idea to start a new post topic with a descriptive title of what you need help with , again Not "Painting") that you likely Must remove the Road Wheel Center Caps or Hub Caps to remove said wheels.

OR, if you can't remove the wheels, just paint with the wheels on.

Firstly, photographs can be posted direct from your phone. I do not use photo bucket of any other hosting means.
I do not know how much you paid for the tank, but as a none runner, I suspect not a lot. You will probably do more damage to the tank hull, by trying to move the wheels side ways, as the plastic may be brittle. You have nothing to loose by prising off the wheel caps, as they can be replaced relatively cheaply, and if they come off without damage, all is good. I would treat this model as a learning experience. I have asked for help on here and made mistakes. Damaged parts, remade parts, and all of it has been a learning curve. I am now doing my third tank and every one has thrown up new problems, but I have learned that all can be sorted. Start a build thread in the Heng Long section and document your build and modifications so we can all benefit from your experience, both good and bad.

i dont use my phone to post but a lap top . i will try and learn from it but i probably will mess up i just would like to learn a few things
