OK, the minor rework has expanded a bit. Working on a micro servo to fit inside the ring at the front to act as my recoil. It will need to rotate around the hull and there wasn't much room. The sideways battery and HL lift mechanism was in the way so a rework was in order. I gutted the hull and plugged all the holes. Then needed to make a re-enforcement plate. I usually use .080 aluminum, but I am currently out. This one and the last I used .060 (about 1.5mm) steel. The last picture shows around 400 158 grain 38 special bullets (around 9 pounds) used to hold the plate down until the two part epoxy cures. Common hand tools can shape the aluminum, steel is a bit harder. Thankfully, I have a pretty well equipped shop for working sheet metal so this wasn't too difficult.

I have used that box of bullets for years. The missing 100 or so are permanent weight adders to various things (one is my soldering iron holder, I got tired of it falling to the floor each time I withdrew the iron).

The first picture represents 6 hours from a close to stock hull to a steel bottomed hull. That .040 styrene to the right of the hull will get epoxied to the floor for a good glue surface (used the last of my epoxy getting the steel down). Picture two is the current upper, remember, this was my first scratch build, I had no idea of alternative ways to mount to the lowers. I'll probably remove much of the side to side bracing. The last picture is where the gun sits currently. Still need to build the three turret seats.

Also switched the entire fleet over from the Tamiya connectors. Found these on Amazon and were pretty cheap. This vendor limits to two packages per order (have two more in the cart). Currently 7 USD for 10 sets (lots of extra shrink wraps). Copy and paste this: 10 Pairs T Plug Connectors Male and Female with 20pcs Shrink Tubing for RC LiPo Battery
