Conqueror.

Post by jarndice »

Now that after many years we have a number of sources of Horstmann Suspension the very vague prospect of a Vickers Conqueror comes rumbling over the horizon
I do not think it will happen but I would be head of the queue were it so to do
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Yes that gives a scale size of 24.93cm wide by 48.25cm long, and then there's the issue of finding tracks, the nearest I can find is KV-1 tracks that are 45mm wide versus scale of 50mm wide, but I suppose they might do.

A picture of the suspension
Image
The suspension is sufficiently similar to the Chieftain and Centurion suspensions I did so I can probably adapt from there. The elephant in the room as it were (and almost literally) is the turret, which looks like a real challenge. 8O 8O
To think they cast that in one piece!

There is one from Gambody that used to be in 1/16 scale and now in 1/35, but I think they still include most of the 1/16 files. I haven't bought it so I can't say positively.
