Trumpeter/HL T72B1

Post by tomhugill »

Hey folks,

Been a long road on this one but it's finally finished.

The build threads here which goes through what was done and why

viewtopic.php?p=326895&hilit=T+72b1&sid ... fc#p326895

The tanks got the following spec:

Trumpeter static kit
PDSGB double differential gearbox
Metal ball bearing wheels
Metal suspension arms
Metal sprockets and idlers
Attracks correct pattern metal tracks
Adjustable metal idler
Output shaft bearings
Resin reinforced lower hull
WCP models speaker box w/FR7
Clark universal elevation
Clark t72 turret full option conversion (servo recoil, elevation, tbu base, speaker, mount for turret electrics)
Slip ring
Clark ttk system, TTK80 and TCK39 control boards in the hull and turret respectively.
Full lighting with headlights, marker lights, convoy light

The commander figures from Ali express and Gary farrow of rc model tank art did the paint job, inspired by a tank capture and pressed into service by the ukranian armed forces.

An awesome result, Tom. It's really cool seeing how you've made the most of a modern build with all the extras like working marker lights and turret stabilisation. Are they fibre optic or SMD?

Thank you! I went the smd route as getting the fibre round corners would have been tricky!
