Thanks Kaczor that's why I also like the Sherman, there's so many variants and or modifications that were done to them making the builds both fun and challenging at the same time.
I tried to do as many of the changes that were possible ( or at least what I knew ) like changing the bogies to the early style and using the 5 spoke wheels, I also cut down the rear of the turret as much as I dared as not to impede the barrel recoil movement, this was done to resemble the low bustle type, I did not do this modification in the earlier pictures but on the completed model it is noticable, I've most probably missed a few things to make it 100% accurate but as with all of my models I use some artistic license and as long as it has the overall look that I was going for it makes me happy

I get what you mean about the regal look of the desert tanks, I don't know whether it's the curved lines that make it look less crude or if the sand skirts make it look like it's floating along
