Daryl from Leicestershire

Post by Nuc »

Afternoon all,

i have recently gotten back in to the RC hobby after several years away though this is mainly cars. After my recent trip to the Muckleburgh collection in Norfolk and seeing how much my son enjoyed it and his new found love of tanks i thought why not capitalise on this and look in to RC tanks.

Ideally im looking for advice on whats a good starting point / entry mode. Any clubs or groups in the Leics/Notts/Derby area that might be worth looking into.

slight side note im also looking for anyone who may have a electronize FR30HX ESC as i have a MkIV Wheelbarrow EOD that has been a shelved project for far too long.

Hello and welcome. Used to reside on the Derby/Notts boarder. Now moved to Argyll and Bute. There is a tank club that meets in Grantham, and another over Leminton Spa way. I’m sure others will be along and correct me.

Welcome, Daryl! The most popular starter for RC tanks is the Tiger. There are plenty of versions and ooh-goo-gobs of information (books, web sites, etc.) and aftermarket parts. I prefer the Torro (also as Taigen) versions for quality, but many prefer the HengLong. In the UK, you have Forgebear, a dealer with a great reputation! https://www.forgebeartanks.com/store/c1 ... ducts.html

Welcome, Grantham is a good group to join https://www.facebook.com/GranthamLightArmouredDivision first(ish) Sunday of the month. There's another group Nuneaton way but can't remember what they're called.

Grantham has regular visits from Forgebear, purveyor of all things tank related.
