This build is taking off like a rocket! The brass is exemplary! Do the new Airshot cannons seem better than the ones from back in the day? I've had some real corkers that would injure people and then some that required a rebuild to even work.

I woefully underestimated the brass requirement by miles
The airsoft in this thing is a weapon, easily the most ferocious Ive had.
Local supply of anything down here is thin, so I've kept the standard unit until further notice.

Thanks for looking in Mr Pavel. You are right about any clamps soaking up heat, but I cant get clamps or anything else on these cross bars
Ive also used a wet cloth, and that is ok but lacks fine adjustment capability .
Theres is going to be almost 200 bars of various lengths across the top of this thing by the time I'm done , so be damned If I'm soldering each of them !!

That is the theory I think. At least that is the theory behind slat armor. Problem is the US Javelin already has a dual delayed warhead. It tends to just blow through these cages and hit the very weak top armor anyway. There aren't enough ERA blocks on the tops of Russian tanks to cover the entire top so the secondary round still goes through.

Not all slat armor is created equal though. They say the spacing of the slats and their orientation can change the effectiveness of the armor.

I soldered the antenna 1/200, could not glue it all together .......
Or you will have to glue all this with ?A ....

But, this cage caper is all I can do & that I have to accept................like ole Dirty harry said once.........."A mans got to know his Limitations"

My material estimate is as bad as my soldering, so I'm most certainly am off to the hobby shop on the weekend to get more, a LOT more
But, I have to get this cage done.

Yes, you do not try very hard with the cleanliness of the seams and accuracy ....
This cage was not made on a machine, but by hand from what was found on the side of the road ...

Thanks Mr Pavel, that is helpful.
Due to a lack of the correct sized angle brass here, I have used small square tube that represents RHS used to knock together an umbrella rather than a factory made kit version that I’m sure is used.
I’ve seen stairway handrails and farm gates also used as overhead protection on some vehicles!!
