Wireless turrets

Post by Shagnifico »

I'm thinking of going with a wireless turret connection on my gepard. Either with SGS electronics, or Beier. SGS has options for IR transmission to the turret. Beier has bluetooth or IR. Does anybody have experience with setting up these units? Because wiring up a slipring to a turret with many functions is tedious and very time consuming. And then after you do get it installed, got all the wires shortened and soldered in, insulated and protected and then a wire gets chewed on by a gear or something AND YOU HAVE TO BREAK IT ALL DOWN TO FIND THE FAULTY WIRE AND REPLACE IT ALL OVER AGAIN!! OMG!

SGS and Benedini are the two manufacturers who offer electronics especially for the Gepard.
The Benedini Module is only the electronic for the Gepard turret, not more.
SGS has an infrared module for wireless connection of the turret electrics.
They also has the appropriate hardware, such as radar drive with limit switch, etc. etc.
The installation is complex but proven and works well, this is a comlete solution i recommend that.

Well it looks like none of Beier’s tank suitable boards have ir or bt capability. I was thinking of using the UFR-1230-D but I was mistaken. So I guess I will use the sgs. It’s just damn expensive, the gepard package is over $700.
