A Free T34 but what are the options?

Post by nw explorer »

Bought a H/L Tiger off evil bay just for the body really, when i picked it up today the lad selling it had a T34 in white sat there and he gave me it,very kind i thought.
It starts on the switch but there is no remote for it.
Thinking of gutting it and fitting out with Heng long internals, gearboxes etc.

I am doing one at the moment. You can:

Bin all of the electronics in the hull, keep the speaker and the attached wires.
Bin all of the electronics in the turret. Keep a couple of inches on everything coming off the gun so that you can solder new ones on.
The whole thing is a birds nest of wiring..but...
To connect it to an HL 8 pin socket all you need are:

+/- from the barrel elevation motor.
+/- from the turret rotation motor.

Plus
+/- from the speaker
+/- from each motor

Plus if you want to keep the recoil you will need someone who knows what those 3 wires are, there are another two that I think are the permanent live. I haven't got that far yet so I don't know.

I am sticking an Elmod in mine.

Hi Nw explorer. If you are taking the origional electronics out of the t34 I would be very interested in buying the main board from inside the tank off you. My son has a t34 that the electronics are just about on there last legs so i would like to replace them and get his tank working properly again. Let me know if they are for sale and how much you would want for them ? ;D

Taken this apart, quite surprised by the internals far more wiring than the H/l.Some bits off to new homes to help other projects.
Hoping to base rebuild on a s+s Bulldog that i have spare.
