On retiring my kids bought me a Taigen Tiger 1 kit which got me started in RC Tanks. I am currently converting a Heng Long Sherman to a Firefly VC.

If you are building Taigen kits and converting a Sherman then you have definitely come to the right place,
Just out of interest because we have a worldwide membership where do you come from, (Country not Street
)
I hope you enjoy this place and if we can be helpful in the pursuit of your new hobby then we will be very pleased

Hello from another across the puddle. I have seen lots of a Firefly conversions here on RCTW. I’d use the search box with “Firefly” to see what comes up. Those who did conversions in the past year or so might be especially helpful. Please do show photos of your Tiger build: a great one to do! Have fun; ask questions; join the senseless chatter (i.e. most of my posts.)

Welcome. I got really lazy and ended up buying my Firefly from Dean at DGS...
You can see my Firefly in the top right of the frame (also my T34/85) herding some cats:

Welcome Thomian,
Glad to have you aboard! I'm a Tiger fan too! Not much of a Sherman fan, however I do really love the Firefly and Easy Eight forms of that tank. You'll find plenty of info here on that Firefly, some member's here have done some amazing renditions of that classic tank.
Enjoy yourself here,
Eric.
