I was looking at other size models and found this. May have already been posted , but check out the Maier transmission. Scroll down to Jagdpanther link in blue. Super stuff!! Rare west german kits...maybe a few still out there....

I think there is a german supplier of 1/10 panther tracks. might be a good size before moving to 1/6.
