Greetings.

Land Rovers and model tanks? Both money pits. Might as well stand on a street corner and throw money into the wind. As an ex owner of a coast guard LL, I can vouch for the costs. Now moved onto hydraulic Citroens, which are equally good at removing money from bank accounts.

Love the picture of the Challenger. My own model, is being built as a gulf war tank.

Ask plenty of questions, of the guys on here. Some one will pop up and answer them.

Regards Ian

There used to be lots of British troops in Germany, and the way things are going, they might well be needed again. :shh:
Anyway, do send us more photos of your new steed in action.
Yeah, that's the one. I haven't actually made use of my geographic position to look at anything historical - last few years have been a bit of a ride, haha. At some point I'm planning on checking out the various places though. One day. Propably when summer comes around so I can use my LR and not freeze inside the cabin.

I've thrown enough money at my LR to a point where it stops going expensively wrong. Chassis is new, everything's been apart at least once and I have almost a complete spare drivetrain (with an engine that requires an overhaul, grr!) . It's now shifted to doing annoying things that cost like ~2 quid to repair but take hours. Like constantly losing oil from somewhere in the gearbox at an alarming rate.
Another problem is the rate of fuel it burns (while getting nowhere fast, it's a petrol) but we all knew that when we bought them didn't we :haha:

I'm not actually sure where I plan to take the chally visually. All the chobham armour add-ons look very cool, but they'd require a degree of repainting, which I'm worried is out of the scope of my abilities. I do plan on retiring the pea-shooter function and adding in barrel recoil and such. Maybe FPV gear too (It's the reason the commander's periscope (I think that's what it is called) is missing - I desire to discreetly house a small camera inside.)

Have another picture!

The family got ever larger and the Citroen GSA estate was far too small so we bought a Merc wagon which managed to transport a very sick pony to the vets but the piece de resistance was the Citroen Safari CX which carried everything and we adored it but in common with every Citroen I have ever owned it rotted away,
We no longer need a wagon but I do miss the big Citroen it was luxury on wheels.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
