Hey all

I'm Conor, late 20s, am a UK expat living in germany.

Over the last few weeks I've been looking at RC tanks a lot, and finally decided to take the plunge and buy myself a Challenger 2



I'm not entirely new to RC, been playing with radio controlled objects (mainly drones and cars) on and off for at least twenty years now. Developed an accidental interest in military vehicles through my first car, which was an ex-BAOR Land Rover I have restored twice now (first time to just get it to run, second time as close to military spec as you can go without parting yourself from immense amounts of money)

I'm looking forward to potentially tap into y'alls knowledge base to improve the Chally 2 - while I'm not any good when it comes to 'proper' modelling (I have a bad tremor in my hands and thus any detail-heavy work is completely off the table) I do like to improve upon the mechanical side of things so it will run nice, smooth and durable for many years to come.

A Challenger is supposedly a decent 1/16 r/c Tank, All I know is I have one in it's box unopened and when I find the time I can join an ever growing buildbase

Another big Chally 2, got to love them! Very nice! You say "y'all"? Are you sure you're not from the Midwest U.S.A.? I thought only us "flatlanders" used that saying?! Just kidding, but it's great to have you with us. Hope you enjoy this place as much as I have, great bunch of guys here too!

This is partly true. I live within spitting distance of the largest american airbase outside the US, thus I have befriended some Amerikanskis, who are just about the only people I speak my native language with at this point, and some of hte colonial lingo has rubbed off.

A Nicely staged photo, Conor, of a well-kitted-out Challenger. I imagine you must be near Ramstein Airbase- which is convenient for trips to France (Ardennes and Alsace in particular), and even Switzerland where my son lives. Coincidentally, he's a fan of the Berliner band called Rammstein (with an extra 'm') .
There used to be lots of British troops in Germany, and the way things are going, they might well be needed again.
Anyway, do send us more photos of your new steed in action.

Greetings and salutations, Conor! Don't let the flatlanders fool you: "Y'all" is a distinctly a part of south-eastern US parlance. In fact, I lived for a while in North Carolina, and the usage wasn't even all that common there. "Y'all" is both singular and plural, and a usage I respect, even if it's not a part of my dialect and I cannot use it effectively.

Tanks,oh,yeah, tanks...I almost forgot in my frantic pedantic antic. I, too, have a Challenger (and Leopard, Abrams, the two ZTZs, a couple T-90s, etc.) hiding in boxes. I am so ignorant of modern tanks that I hesitate to do anything except take them out to see how big they are! Like the others, I do welcome photos.
