The loneliest friendliest hobby im happy with.
When i first started this path, it was with a hobby engine Abrams during covid, Little did i know how far i would go. i always assumed that it was just for the Tamiya crowd. I have now resurrected a challenger, and am now in the process of trying to see if i can build one up from bits. I do this on my own as there are no clubs near me and the only model club I have links with is a boat club( well it did all start with the Land ships committee) but thanks to the internet. I have contacts all over the world . who will advise me and show me videos on how to do things. even if my German is rusty and is rather bad. so to all on here I thank you

Medic! Hi! Apparently you are in the UK (right?). With the distances here in the US, not many have access to clubs, so I have more than once had slivers packed under my fingernails trying to figure out something laughably simple to many here on RCTW. Show pictures, ask questions, I can learn from the answers—and what clever and skillful tricks you come up with yourself. I’m rootln’ for ya!

Cheers for that, mate much appreciated. I always forget that the States is much bigger, the one thing i would always like to see though is a rc tank rally how the Germans do them. now that would be brilliant

Hi guys,
I totally agree with both of you! Hell, what I would really like to see, is just a tank museum!
But watching RC tanks run around would be a close second!
Cheers,
Eric.

German cars, German girls, German beer, German firearms, German Shepherds, German motorcycles... Not necessarily in that order though!

Hello to our good Herr Dr.,
Yeah, unfortunately Danville is a bit of a haul from here. About 14 hours' drive time and close to 900 miles. Even when I'm lucky enough to go on a vacation I usually just chill and do nothing. And I mean nothing!
In 2020 just before Covid crapped on all of us, I was lucky enough to spend 2 weeks in North Carolina. I was less then 50 minutes away from Fort Bragg and the 82nd Airborne and Special Ops Museum. Do you think I could pry myself out of a very comfy chair to go visit?
Nope, had too much fun spending all my time annoying the fire ants with my Tiger 1 and smoking cigars! As Bon Scott once said "no I ain't doing much, doing nothing means a lot to me"!
I guess it's a priority of mine given our crazy lifestyle! Oh well, someday!
Cheers,
Eric.
P.S. The vacation was all I envisioned and more, so I really can't complain!

Or both at the same time? The British Tank Museum is holding a special model exhibition weekend in a week or two, standard entrance price so free to season tickets holders. Good place to meet up with like minded hobbyists and always a good day out.EAO wrote: I totally agree with both of you! General J01,
I must say that my passport is still valid, just lacking the time and the needed funds for airline tickets!
That's one hell of an idea though!
Bovington, Imperial War Museum, hop the Channel, Normandy, Munster, Berlin, Nuremburg, Saumur....etc.,etc., etc.!
Never had a bucket list, but I guess I do now!
Cheers,
Eric.

been to bovington a long time to go but didnt have time to take it in. i would like to go again, but i have to convince the other half its a weekend away for us. i am lucky to have a couple of muesums around me with armour in it. but none dedicated. i would also like to see the DPM and the Dutch military museum. but lack of funds is also a big one as well.
