360º turret modification

Yes, that's an upsy-doonsy* King Tiger turret in the photos. (Any of the HengLong or Taigen tank turrets would be recognizably similar.) Go for it! I was frightened when I first tried changing out parts, but being so far from anywhere, I had to dive in. If you can teach an old Professor new tricks, any old dog can learn.

*(Upsy-doonsy is Professorese for "inverted.")

It's a fairly easy change but make sure you secure the slipring part. Otherwise it'll slip a bit and you'll still have a tangled mess.

How do you recommend doing that?

The turret rings sometimes have a slot. Otherwise, I think I cable tied some of the wires down. I just avoid spinning the turret.

The turret ring upgrade comes with a jacket I think. Is that what is it for?

Yes. You just need to tie it down in the hull then. It's a nice mod, but potentially a load of trouble when (not if) the wires get tangled up.
