Hi all.
Clark TK24 was working fine, its made a crackling sound and now its very quiet and distorted, all of
the functions work as normal, I think something is kaput on the board, I dont know if Clark repair them
any ideas welcome
Sounds like the audio amp has gone. There's a work around using a mini 5w external amp but it's a little fiddly. Alternatively you can return to Clark for repair. Details of how to do this are on the Clark web site.
Thank you Tom, There is a small resistor on the rear of the board (200 ohm) , I have tried bridging it without
any joy, being an older TK board I have used it with a 8ohm speaker and not at full volume, is the fault
a common problem, never had this with my other Clark boards.
the HP output impedance is 8 ohms, if on the other hand you use a 4 ohm speaker, there is a risk of destruction of the output stage? Also check that your HP works, on another device, for example can the coil be cut?
