I know, the balloon tires are not the correct type for the model in that camo, I am building at the moment.
In fact they were for the DAK during the African war.
But I must use what I've got.
No intentions to build a third Beetle.....with the correct type of tires.

Assembled the little guy this morning.
Tomorrow I will start maken the foldable roof.

Just put the roof on.
After it has dried properly it will be painted.

The photos of weathered detail under the bonnet and boot (hood and trunk) are a treat to see. I was transported back in time to memories of using a Crescent Wrench to "set the timing" on a (long deceased) friend's Karmann-Ghia. One time I forgot to take the wrench off the nut, so when my friend turned the starter switch, that wrench took to flying and banged against the house siding, hitting right next to my landlord just as he stepped out on the porch. My landlord laughed and said, "Trying' to get the ol' wash machine runnin', hunh?"
