Got both sides of the hangers done, apart from the retaining pins & chains which will go on later.
Used the last of my Arber Panther schurzen sprue which is very tough and solders well.
Simple process of folding with pliers to suit the links, then placing individually on the cross brace then solder pasting in position.
Once the first one is soldered, I use a wet rag as a heat sink to prevent the solder melting when the next one is done, so on & so on.
I also drilled through the hanger and hull once they were super glued in place using dress making pins right through into the hull and glued more just to add a mechanical bond.

I’ve made a promise to myself not to make another set of these! :/
This time I will stick to that when the next Panther comes .

This thing has gold bling like a Brooklyn Pimp /Rapper :wtf:
Can’t wait to paint it but a way to go yet

Thanks Mr Met.
I got impatient with it and needed some form of gratuitous pay back from the work, plus the bling was far too ostentatious for my liking !
Oh, and the smell of primer :shifty: :shifty: ;)

Annnnd just because

That first coat of unifying colour is probably the most rewarding step of a build.

By contrast, getting the MFU to work is just a cold sweat then relief!

Oh Hell yeah it is mate, its not quite allllllll in primer, but the most of it is & thats great.
And again on the MFU working..............cold sweat and relief is an understatement 8O well it is for me anyway .
The turret is getting the last bits that are solid enough to cope with rough assembly handling which should mean primer, and the hull rear plate is just deciding how to secure the jerry cans to the stowage panniers before it gets primer.
The upper rear hull still has a few bits to fit, but should be able to be blended in with primer if necessary.
Things like clamps & tools will be brush blended in as required.

The red of the primer is very beautiful. What do you use?

Love to see it all in one colour Herman, I reckon it makes all the details pop just a little bit more. You did well with those track holders, they'll really look the part loaded up with spare links and chains.

Thanks Mr Met, its an automotive etching primer, a Holts Duplicolour product. Either PS or DS 108 depending on the size can.
Very thin & sprays out of the can in a controlled fan that dries very quickly.
As it is a proper etch primer, the stuff sticks like a kids half eaten lolly to your new lounge suite :/
Has to be sanded vigorously to remove it.
Has great bonding properties to all acrylic paint I have ever used.
