Field of Armor Tanks
I've been looking at the Field of Armor 1/6 jagdpanther kit. Has anyone tried these yet? There all metal kits and look fairly complex to build, but could be fun. Also there far more affordable than a lot of 1/6 tanks.

Re: Field of Armor Tanks
At one time I came very close to buying one of those kits.I think for the money they would be a fun one to work on.What keep me from buying one at that time was the fact I found a few of the M-5 1/6 scale stuarts and bought them.I have seen a few bits and pieces on topics posted but never did see anyone on the forums who did a entire build on one of them.I was allways a little skeptical about the tracks and sprockets that came on these tanks as to how and if they would work well and hold up for RC use.Never realy did find out all that much on these kits.At that time had I known other tracks and sprockets were avaible (either the tracks and sprockets for the 1/6 stuart or the ones for the 1/6 panzer--by 21 sT. century ) I would have for sure bought one at that time.I know I would like to see a build done on one of them.

Re: Field of Armor Tanks
They do look like a fun build. I think your right about the sprockets and tracks, they would probably have to be replaced with ones from Mark-1. I think it would take a hell of a lot of time, money and effort to get it up to a decent RC standard, but that would be the fun part. I think the only thing stopping me getting one at the moment is literally space to put it. I barely have space for more 1/16 tanks! lol. Maybe in a few months time I may pick one up. If I do, i'll post a big build thread.

Re: Field of Armor Tanks
Your right Rivet, but its the same guy I think. There kits do look interesting, but to cost it all up to getting up and running in RC would cost as much as a Mark 1, and Mark 1's tanks are much better built. Guess it'll be a long while before I get a 1/6 tank, lol.

Hey rivot,do you think this kits could be VERIO,from H/K? Big Tanks of America has metal kits of PANTHER,JAGDPANTHER,M-3 HALFTRACK,and many more but not sure who the Manufacturer is.I think some are Verio?

Sax, this is the guys site http://www.battlereadyarmor.com/. I dont think there the Verio tanks. He makes them himself. They are nice kits, if your after a static display model, but at that scale who wouldn't want RC? lol
I did read about RC kits coming for the Field of Armor ones, maybe they'll work on these too.

Re: Field of Armor Tanks
I have seen these tanks before being advertised all over the place even on evilbay http://www.big-tanks-plant.com/shop/index1.html I think they are made in Germany though I could be wrong, considering they have such a vast range of RC tanks I have never seen any even on forums, they also supply “Battle readt Armourâ€

Re: Field of Armor Tanks
Rivot, this guy Victor has sent me all kinds of e-mails about the failing gearboxes and how quick he sent out new parts,I don't intend to have anymore contact with this Victor, and if you know of other suppliers I need drive sprocket,I think I can salvage my tracks and the idlers will be ok after a little machine work.Mark-1 Has great parts but they are costly,BIG TANK USA only offer the FOV plastic stock, they do have one set of metal tracks but no sprockets to match, they said they were from Germany and they want 599.oous for them? Re: Field of Armor Tanks
Unfortunately 1/6 models are very costly my own Tiger has cost over £5500 so far and I think I have 95% of the parts to complete the Tank so shouldn’t cost much more.
