Elefant 1 Company, 653rd schwere Panzerjäger Abteilung, 1944

Post by Met5 »

hi, I'm looking for information on the paint scheme of the Sd. Kfz. 184 Elefants deployed in Cisterna di Latina (Italy) in the spring of 1944.

Tank Power n. 406 (2014)

Gun Power n. 23 (2005)

do you have more precise information? Thank you

Those paint schemes are based most of the times on single picture so other sides are only speculation.

Here are a few more possibilities in books:

Culver, Bruce and Bill Murphy. Panzer colors: Camouflage of the German Panzer Forces 1939-45. Squadron/Signal. 1976. ISBN 0-89747-057-5.
Culver, Bruce and Uwe Feist. Schwere Panzer: Königstiger, Jagdtiger, Elefant. In Detail. Ryton Publications. 2009. ISBN 0-9633824-9-7.
Jimenez, Mig and Carlos Cuesta. 1945 German Colors. Camouflage Profile Guide. AK Interactive 403. 2012. No ISBN.

The Schwere Panzer book obviously has some photos and a few profiles specific to the Ferdinand/Elefant. The others have profiles showing more of the camouflage variations. If I find more books, I will add them here.
