Taking ages to upload short videos to Youtube?

I've never posted a video on Youtube, and we all know how Jimster and others relish them. This morning, I began uploading a short video of the Comet- my very first- and whilst the content has been uploaded, the process seems stuck with the greyed-out message: "...processing will begin shortly..". There's also a red exclamation mark on the 4th stage of the upload- 'Visibility'. I've agreed to make it visible to the public, and set date for the great 'premier' (Yes, it's not going to be by Cecil B. De Military!). But the process appears to have gone on strike, or into a coma.
In short, nothing's happening. Does it take ages to process these things? Or, do 'celebrities' manage to jump the upload queue?

Are you using WiFi? I don’t have wifi at home and it takes up to 10 minutes sometimes. Maybe a bit longer. I’m guessing that connection speed may possibly be part of the problem. Maybe restart your phone and try again.

No, I'm using state-of-the-art fibre broadband with a download speed of 150Mbs and upload of 40Mbs, and uploading from my iMac.
I can download an entire DVD in 10mins or so. Only about 5% of folk in the UK have the speed potential of my connection (FTTP- Fibre to the Premises), and it can go much faster than the speed level I opted for. (My neighbour, over the field from here, has 350Mbs download speed with 50Mbs upload, or thereby...).
Where we used to draw the short straw being at the slowest end of the ADSL (copper wire) network, fibre has given us Fibre-royalty status.
I may try uploading the thing again using Firefox, in the event that there's an issue with Safari.

Yeah, typically uploading a video on YouTube doesn't take that long. Sometimes it take 10 or 15 minutes for it to be visible once it's uploaded, but the actual upload doesn't take that long for small videos.

Whether, or not, it will be available immediately I can't say- as, no doubt, there'll be some digital scrutineers out there hoping to catch me saying, or portraying, something 'insensitive'.

I'll now put a link to the video on my Comet thread. It's not likely to be nominated for a BAFTA (British Association For Tank Awareness.. ); but at least Jimbo can't whinge that I've not posted any videos yet.
