Re: Kubelwagen Reichspost box van
Cheers mate also got the email this is what i have been after.
Not many people would know about this version and the open truck you did also.
I am going to use a static kit I already have a RC Kubel and this would make a nice addition.
A bit of history now
In late 1944 VW decided to make this conversion albeit in small numbers at its factory in Wolfsburg. After the plant was liberated by the allies production started up again in June 1945. The idea was to carry on producing the Kubelwagen in various forms for allied use. However it soon became apparent there was a problem. Although the Kubel was assembled at Wolfsburg the panels were manufactured at Ampi Budd in Berlin. Unfortuntely the plant fell into the Russian sector so supplies soon dried up. I dont think no more than 50 variants of the Kubel were produced mainly from spares lying around the factory and local areas. Production was soon switched to the Beetle and the rest is History.
