Im sure even if its not a whole container, if we all bought together we could get a great deal. If we can do this I think the Tamiya thread section will be one of the most popular bits of the board! lol.  ;D

I think a full container  is a bit optomistic.A standard shipping container is 40 foot long 8foot 6 high and 8 foot wide ;)The best option would be a
pallet sent as Groupage direct from the far east.Even a standard pallet would be a lot of Tanks!

Most recent model delivery i have done is the place where they make those fantasy warfare figures.Game Zone.picked up some boxes of Ork Army for my cousins kid slight damp damage to box so being skipped!

doing plasma tvs from Korea in to Southampton up to Scotland and thrown away.they cost more to store than to buy.now how crazy is that!

Who knows a UK vendor that may help us make a go of this.Pallet size or two either way we should be a able to save half the normal cost, someone has to approach a vendor or this idea's dead.

I really hope we can pull this off. It would be a great boost for the club as well.
We should get a list of who wants what, so someone can tell a vendor how many we want.

Have spoken to a vendor,we do not have to buy a full container. We can purchase by pallet and receive a great discount(300-400)per unit.He advised the following, their are four UK clubs. Each club collects the orders and funds from their members, one person is elected at each club to handle the order and the money. Then the products are shipped to each club address for distribution. That's the simple version.the details are in how it's shipped, how each person pays, which types of tanks, shipping cost would be between 35-50 per unit max.Now these are just the basic structure of how this could work,I can't name the vendor, but he is known to most of us and he described how this could work and that what we all believe is that we pay a large mark up for tamiya products. That's how Tamiya wants it.A pallet is about 36 tanks, the more pallets the better the price. If each club could raise 18 buyers then unit cost maybe as low as 300.Well it's up to us,their is no rush.If this deal could be arranged alot of us could have that Tamiya we could not afford. And let me say this,I want 2 TANKS MAX. I cannot be involved in the handling of funds or the distribution of tanks.Sax

Thats interesting Saxon. It would be quite complicated to get all four clubs together on it though. I dont have the space to store of distribute these tanks either. What would the cost per unit be if we ordered one pallet? The shipping would have to include sending them to each individual as well, or that would be another £20 on top. If were getting £400 per unit, then its not much cheaper, and for a Sherman, more expensive to buy this way.
