Hey there
Hey there
Hi,
I joined this forum in order to broaden my horizon on model building. I'm from Germany and will most likely decrease the average age on here by quite a bit as I'm on the younger end of the spectrum.
Anyway, so far I've got one completed King Tiger and a Panther G in progress.
I hope to find some tips and ideas on here.
Greetings,
Melmondt

LOL, your age drop won't scratch the surface, we have so many old people here, it is like an old people's home
It looks like the hobby has taken hold of you, what make of tanks do you have?
Enjoy the forum.
Mick.

Re: Hey there
Yes, we could do with some younger blood to help balance our outlook on thee hobby and life generally, so welcome!
Have you migrated from any other form of RC hobby or are tanks your first exploit? It's a very absorbing hobby, time, money and space, but well worth the investment. Any photos you can show us yet?

Welcome to the Forum
Wie geht es dir?
I have been waiting for far too long for a bit more young blood to join me battling the old fogies on the Forum
I hope you enjoy this place and do join in the threads that interest you, and ask all the questions that you want, The only bad question is the one you fail to ask
I learnt to ski in Bavaria, Happy memories

I think I am about to upset someone

Re: Hey there
Well, old folks usually have the most experience which means the most and best tips, so I don't mind that.
Both my King and my G are from Heng Long, but heavily modified with metal parts so now only the upper hull and the turret are still original.
In hindsight it would've been smarter to just buy a FO kit, but I learned a lot during my 3-year King Tiger transformation / modification (also useful real life skills like soldering).
Tanks are my only RC hobby and it will probably stay that way. I do have some photos and will post them as soon as I get used to the forum's interface and all the different parts of it. The hobby is indeed a little consuming, yes. But it's also a lot of fun, given you have some friends to share it with. Who sadly don't exist in my area, so I'll have to stick to internet friends for that.

Never learned to ski, but can't complain about Bavaria either

@jhamm Hi! So sieht man sich wieder.
In fact, I joined this forum because of a post of yours in the other one. So thanks for that.

Re: Hey there
Greetings Melmondt,
Glad to have you with us. Great group of guys here with amazing ideas, solutions, suggestions, jokes, pictures, etc., etc.!
Panther's and Tiger's are pretty much my two favorite tanks, well then there's the JP, but technically that's a tank destroyer!
Do post some pics when you're able, we love to stare at things here!
Cheers,
Eric.

Thanks! The JP is indeed very nice, actually one of the best looking German tanks.

Re: Hey there
Herzliche Grüße, junger Melmondt. Sie schreiben recht gutes Englisch, so viel besser als mein Deutsch. Doch ist's wahr: "we have so many old people here, it is like an old people's home." Ihre Aufnahme wird ganz wilkommen sein.
The butchered German is as follows: Greetings, young Melmondt. You write English quite well, so much better than my German. Indeed, it's true: [insert painful comment here
]. Your photos will certainly be welcome.
