Fosco and Alfashirt Paints

Post by SCHWEREPANZER »

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone here in this august gathering has used any of the spray can paints selling under the names Fosco and Alfashirt? Apparently, they are well received by some who have written about them on another site for their coverage qualities and relatively inexpensive price....as long as you're purchasing them in Europe.

I've used Fosco paints. They are great for base color. After painting it's good to seal it with varnish.

Thank you Corporal Kaczor! A question for you since you have used them: The claim is that these are 'industrial" quality paints. Not quite sure what that means, but when applied to a 1/16 scale model with fine detail, do these paints obliterate the detail or do these paints spray like, say, Mr. Surfacer 1500 or Mr. Surfacer 500?

Thanks for your input. Much appreciated.

If painted in proper conditions (not too cold or hot) no detail is lost. But I would not reccomend to use it on something below 1/16 scale. Those paints was made to paint 1:1 replicas, restoring vehicles etc. I my case it was base color and later layers with standard paints like Tamiya.

Thank you. That's the exact answer I was hoping for.
