Well today I wasn't really in the mood for a complex piece of construction, it was a very long day! lol  :D
I tried my hand at making a barrel cleaning rod. Its only a prototype one, just to see if it would work.

The construction was a cocktail stick with the ends cut off, into the end of which I drilled some holes and glued in a small piece of wire. Onto that I glued a section of brass tube and inserted a 1mm thread into one end. I plan on filling the other end with milliput the drilling and tapping it so the rods can actually screw together.

One question though. I assume there was some sort of brush to go on the end of the rods, where was it stored?

Hope you like it!  ;D

Something new to show today! I'm very proud of this! lol  ;D

I have now got both MG's working and controllable from the transmitter. It took a bit of fiddling, and as promised, is very crude, but it works!  ;D

The two pictures show how it works, and i've included a video for those interested. I apologise for the choppy video, its filmed on my camera phone. I should get a better camera really.

Tiger 1 Co-Axial MG Mod

I swapped the LED's for yellow high-intensity ones. I think they look nicer than the Tamiya orange ones. Tell me what you think though.
Also I haven't finished the speaker box, so there's no MG sound in the video.

Now to try making that rear convoy light! lol  :D

Cheers,
Rik

One more post for today. I've wired in the lights. The headlights are functional but I haven't attached the caps yet, as I want to make foil reflectors and get some lenses for them.
The convoy light is partially complete. I need to do a few more things to it before I show it. I like things to be right first.  ;)

The lights are controlled via the transmitter. I used a Turnigy RC switch spliced into the wiring. Simple set up. The headlights are connected to the lowere hull by Tamiya connectors at the moment, but I plan on swapping as many connectors as possible to deans type ones to save space, with all the mods its starting to get a bit crowded in there! lol  ;D

Next is the smoke unit and a couple more internal mods. I've run out of channels on my transmitter now, lol.

Another great modification.
You can never have too many functions.
Never understood why it is only the American tanks in the Tamiya range that have working lights.

I've never understood that either. Maybe the Germans didn't turn the lights on as often? lol  :P

Does anyone know where I could get the 2 pin connectors that fit into the DMD? I need some spares.

I am considering a 7 channel radio so I can add Tailend Charlie's moving MG mod. Gotta add more functions.  :P

Cheers,
Rik
