whats the best stuff to thin acrylics and by how much 50/50 60/40 or what

it depends on the make of acrylic paints you use, i use tamiya paints and thin with car screenwash..............oz

as for the mix ratio i find using between 1 and 2 tamiya jars of thinners for 1 jar of paint works very well................oz

when you thin the paint down your looking for a consistancy of milk

i tried thinning with screenwash 50/50 airbrush kept spluttering the paint out,  if acrylic paint is water based can it be thinned with water

that sounds like an airbrush or compressor prob, you need to recheck the settings on them.............oz

I have been recomended screenwash as well also cheap Tesco/Asda vodka personally I would drink it myself
