Hello from Canada

Post by JeremyB »

Hi guys

My name is Jeremy I'm from Canada.

Around 2006 I was heavily involved in the rc tank hobby. My tanks where all heng long but I had the following ( also should mention I collected enough spares for each tank to last forever lol )

2 tigers
1 Pershing
2 bulldogs
3 panzer 3
3 panzer 4
And one of the panther/tiger

Around the time of 2009 I purchased my house with a big backyard garden so was able to run them in there. For some reason I kind of lost the tank bug as I went back to working on my model railaroad when the winter temps were freezing or summer days too hot to be outside. So my tanks sat on a shelf which I would always dust and keep clean. The other day I was looking at my Pershing thinking I would like to get it going again and see if the tank bug comes back.

So I open the tank and realize the last thing I had done was remove a old board that fried, back then it was the rx13 boards still which I still have dozens of

I'm thinking if I do want to get back in that I will be getting the new boards and upgrading my tanks. This site looks like a great place and a ton of info to be had.

The one thing I'm trying to find from some guys is the old wiring diagram for the rx13 boards, I had one but it must have been thrown out somehow

Thanks again guys

Jeremy

Welcome aboard from another long time model railroader.
The quality aftermarket computer boards for rc tanks are like DCC in model railroading. Awesome.

Welcome to the Forum
I cannot help you with an rx13 wiring diagram BUT if you type "RX13" into the search engine box on the top right of this page you will eventually find access to a U-Tube video showing how easy it is to convert from an rx13 to an rx18 which changes your tank/s into plug and play as well as smoke and sound,
Easy and cheap.
Enjoy the Forum.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Ooooh a fellow Canuck! There are a few of us lurking here on RCTW.
I'll see what I can dig up for the RX13.. Are you looking at where all the connections go? (Aka what wire is what from solder joint to the connector?)

Thank you for the welcome guys and hello to my fellow Canadians

Hey jarlath that's exactly what I'm looking for, may I ask where you found that pic and if you have it in a larger size.

If the tank bug stays with me this time I will upgrade eventually

Welcome, Jeremy!
I was unaware of DCC control systems for railways, until you and Jimster commented on them. I looked them up and- well, wow!. :O Not cheap, though. :)

Doing a Lazarus on your HL antiquities would be a lot easier, and more rewarding, with HL's latest (quantum leap forward) V6.0 series electronic controllers serving as the heart transplant.
At the very least, testing a one set out in your favourite tank will- I'm sure- afford you a very pleasant surprise.

Welcome Jeremy,

Glad to have you aboard! This is THE place for all things relating to RC tanks. Enormous talent resides in it's members, and they're very generous too I might add!

Enjoy,
Eric.
