Hi,
With this post, the construction is finished. Here are a few pictures before painting and a YOUTUBE video of the weapons system in action at the end of the post.
The electronics have been installed and the model is ready for action. The Mato gearbox coming with the M4A1 is quite fast. Alter building a few builds with very slow mo Mato 5.1 gearboxes, it is refreshing to go back to one that is a bit more nervous and energetic... The new T41 tracks are performing extremely well, and no issues with the metal sprockets or 3D idler.
The Clark TK40 provides two independent machine guns, important for this tank.
Red tail lights are modified Mato Sherman tail lights. The M3 has no tow hook at the rear so it was removed.
Tools were assembled from mostly Sherman stuff.
Head lights are modified Mato Sherman. The guards are scratch built in brass and modelled on references.
View of the electronics under the hood.
- Clark TK40 with S bus
- Flysky 10 channer receiver
- Mato M4A1 gearbox
- Heng Long speaker
- Turret rotation bi-directional continuous 360 servo connected to TK servo rotation port
- 37mm gun elevation servo on independent channel 6 with VRA knob
- Machine guns 1 and 2 assigned to switches with flash and sounds
- 75mm gun horizontal movement assigned to independent channel 5 with VRB knob
- 75mm gun elevation servo connected to TK servo elevation port
- 75mm gun custom recoil and servo connected to TK servo recoil port with flash and sound
- Head and tail Lights, motors and clutch assigned to switches
Last views of the model before painting.
And finally, here is a YOUTUBE video of the weapons testing.

Its nice to see the tank up and running ,i think all builds should have a video of the tanks rc functions. Another great build showing us the faults in the kits and correcting them.

Hi,
The M3 Lee is finished. Tomorrow, i will take it outside for a test run and a photoshoot.
I had to scavenge around for markings. The M3 had large stars on the turret sides and rear, with often a thick colored bar all around the turret. The markings were either white, yellow or a combination of white and yellow as seen below. It is amazing that the American would design such large visible markings, as if they wanted to facilitate aiming for the German anti-tank guns by providing aiming points and horizontal lines to calculate the range.
Here is the finished model. I named it Rebel Yell.

Now this is what I call an L3 Lee!
Though you could have dealt with this horrible front transmission housing, you have achieved by far the beautifulest job this tank deserves.

Perfect, just perfect. If you could dull the white headlights, that would make it worthy of a place in the Vatican-its that good.
