I had read the tube was blue, but it seems to be an ongoing wonder as to whether the tube or bulb was blue, lol.

Would this paint be good for the tube, to let the light through?

Cheers,
Rik

Looks good. I wonder if you mixed some blue pastel with klear if that would work ?
Do you realize how much I hate this uniform and all it stands for. ( Cross of Iron )

Picture 4 showing a convoy light on a G13 (Hetzer) is post war and should be ignored
Pictures 2 and 3 show 2 different types of convoy light both of which where fitted to Panther at different times on different models and various other tanks, picture 2 is usually fitted to light vehicles like Kubelwagens and Puma armoured cars they where also fitted to tanks such as Pz III, Ferdinand ETC, picture 1 was fitted to Tigers  the lens was a dark blue almost black colour but when illuminated gave a lighter blue light some of the very early type Tiger 1 like VK4501 (H) and some initial Tigers also had Picture 2 type light fitted

So the picture 2 one's may have been fitted to Tigers? Possibly a spare used from a Panther during refit? I quite like the design, and I think it would add a bit of difference to my Tiger.

It’s possible that they where fitted to Tigers in the field but the pictures I have studied either you cant make out what is fitted with all the mud or it’s as in picture 1 with a blue lens
