Greetings

Post by TicTrac »

Hi Everyone.

I'm new to RC tanks but have some experience in RC scale model boats.

Having coveted the RC 1/16th Tamiya Leopard 1 as a kid I've finally taken the plunge and bought myself a used Heng Long Challenger 2, as I like the full size tank and think the model is good value for money and upgradable.

I don't intend to try to produce a museum quality highly detailed model but will make a few modifications only to the extent that it won't be a disaster if an accessory gets knocked off in use, as they always tend to. My main aim to just have fun and use the model frequently.

I see that this forum is a mine of good information and advice and I look forward to chatting with you all about enjoying our tanks.

Best wishes,

Paul.

Hello and welcome to the forum Paul  sounds like you have a good plan for your challenger. Take a look around the sub sections of the site and I'm sure you'll find some worth while tips and tricks for modding your tank, and please post some pics of your progress when you get the chance, we like pictures :D

Cheers, Lee.

Welcome, Paul, and it's ditto for me with Lee's observations. :)
I'd just add that It's beneficial to keep the reins on this hobby from the outset, or it can gallop off with your cash, and your available domestic space- like some hobby Highwayman :lolno: I only wish I'd had a plan like yours, when I pressed that first 'Buy!' button. :/ :haha:
The Challenger's a smart looking model, and betokened a noticeable quantum leap forward in quality (design and performance) of Heng Long tanks, and tank accessories
