Did someone mention a snake. . . .
I now have a python to add to the pets I have to look after now my youngest has moved back in with us :/

Oh, sorry Mr SEAN66, I misunderstood :{
Yes, the defence budget has been overly cut in my opinion. I remember about the American soldiers lending equipment to our British troops during the middle eastern conflict.

This is an interesting topic really, in a world of drone strikes what is the relevance of a tank anymore as they are becoming more vulnerable but at the same time now that the uk is almost divorced from the eu would it not be advisable for the defence budget to be increased. It doesn’t matter what the deal will be once we reach the date that ends the transition period we are on our own

I think that with the commissioning of HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince Charles and the purchase of enough F 35s to fly off them as well as a few Squadrons for the RAF Plus the fortune it costs the MOD to train the ground and Aircrew in the USA
There is about as much chance of Chris Packham rediscovering a flock of Dodos as a new MBT being purchased.
On behalf of the Nations economic survival through these testing times the Chancellor has borrowed 3 TRILLION £££.
Soldiers will be lucky if they don't have to buy their own bullets :lolno:

Not really Herman, I think whichever Political party is in Government in the UK right now is going to be facing exactly the same problem.
The Army needs more toys but we have no money for them, :thumbdown:
I started this thread initially to point up the UKs backward slide in matters mechanical not Political,
We invented the first practical railway system which is now an embarrassment,
We developed and put into service the first Jet powered airliner (The Comet) which pooped in its own basket by imploding just as export sales were about to take off (sic),
In concert with our old friends the French we built the first Supersonic passenger jet liner and now it is finally making money by people being charged to look at in a aviation museums,
We made and flew the first practical VTOL Fighter and pretty much gave that to the American Marine Corps and we invented the first practical Armoured Fighting Vehicle the Tank and we are about to witness its demise apparently.

We could always lend them some of ours, not convinced they will be effective with out strapping some c4 to them but there we go, although I’m sure some one here will be able to weaponise a 1/6 scale
