Thanks, Roy and Gary and Jimster and SS1947 for thought provoking stuff on the Jerry Cans and Fuel Drums in situ on road marches. When prepping\researching to buy and build years ago, I really was taken by the imagery of the tank clanking off into vast distances like North African deserts and Russian steppes ( where they did the Jerry Can and Fuel Drum stowage as well as Roy noted ) Hence the Fuel and Water stowage. I'll leave room for the turret to turn. ;o) Now back to the Build!

After a couple of errand days, I was able to begin detail painting. I used the same rattle can spray color to touch up missed or light areas ( as well as clean up and cut in after using the elfenbein for the hatch interiors. ) There is a little left to touch up with the primary color, namely the hatch coamings on the turret. For the Elfenbein, I had to make up my own as mine had dried up beyond point of use and none could be sourced locally. Using the existing bottle as a guide, I think I matched it up pretty well. More detail painting tomorrow.

I bought one of those Micro Mark paint mixers things, but haven't used it yet. Micro Mark has some pretty cool modeling supplies.

Thanks for looking in! Yes, I'm saving some older bottles of paint by mixing a little thinner in and using this tool. Works very well! Cleaning is done by wiping off excess then dipping the mixer in a bottle of thinner and turning it on. ;o)

I've been using that mixer for years, and it's pretty much the only way I stir paint anymore.

Better than shaking the crap out of the bottle? Always worked for me but sounds as if I need some paint skills enlightenment! Why stir instead of shaking? I’m not too old to change some ways.

Don't talk to me about paint stirring machines,
We were redecorating the house, I went into town and bought half a dozen 2 litre cans of paint,
The shopkeeper prised off the lid and squeezed a tube of colouriser into each tin to obtain the particular shade my lady had requested and then offered it up to the mechanical stirrer,
He replaced the lids and off I went home,
Into the kitchen where everything was ready for the top coat,
I placed the first can on the worktop and dipped the brush in, at that moment the base of the can lost contact with the rest of the paint tin and dropped its contents over the worktops and the floor.

I use a piece of stick to stir paint these days,

...(In which it is seen that new tools serve best as conversation starters ;o)... I spent a few hours this afternoon working on three sections of the build requiring paint and some scratch detailing. Headlights painted and installed, spare road wheels painted and mount made up and the HL smoke candle box transplanted and smoke candles made up... Spare ABER brass figured into all this ;o)
