This is an old trick so many of you will have seen it before, and the number of tanks that actually need this is getting less and less each day as they use up the old stock, but it may be informative for a few, so I think that makes it worth posting.
A useful tip, as ever, Gary. In Britain, those locking pliers are known as 'Mole Grips'. Just for info.
I just twisted the stud out of the Panther with gripping pliers. Your method requires less effort, but some electricity- instead of calories from elbow grease .

I like this method because it's easy to get a clean result. I've tried twisting them out and I always end up buggering the hole all up before I get the little rascal out of there. This way it just slides right out as soon as it gets hot enough, so all you need is steady pressure on the iron and boom, out she drops,
