While the embossed aerial base (antenna-US) doesn't look too bad, it needs an aerial. I went for the MK Modellbau type sold by Dave, at Forgebear.
The first thing was to saw the base off, carefully, and then drill a hole with a pin vise- just sufficient for the pin in the base of the aerial. I fixed the unit in place with rubber glue, in the event that I need to remove it in future, for maintenance.

The MK aerial has a rubber base, supposedly to allow a little flexing- units for Russian tanks are spring-loaded, I believe.
This is the German one.

Roy, have you got a screen set yet?

Not sure what you mean by screen set, Gary :problem: ?
One downside to fitting an aerial, for purely detail reasons is, that as with the real deal, when the barrel sweeps round, the aerial/antenna has to flex, or do a limbo move under the barrel. In this case, since it's not a 360- capable setup, the barrel can have a pretty broad sweep, without needing the aerial to curtsey. :)

The round screens for the air intakes (if that's what they are). I picked up a set of PE screens for mine that comes with both round and rectangular but I see your tank already has the rectangular screens mounted.

Ahhh..yes, but it has the two round and four rectangular grills in place, Gary. Interestingly, the Tamiya Jagdpanther comes with a PE set of the grills/screens; but the Tamiya Panther Ausf G full-option model doesn't. :problem:
Thus, I thought I was lucky, on that basis, to have a budget HL Panther equipped with them.
Next up will be the blue convoy light.

Good Morning,
There should be a couple of external armored covers on the grilles opposite the crew heater side as well. You have to give HL credit for trying tho' They are consistently improving.
regards and back to Roy!

:D Yes, but I'll give HL 6/10 for effort, Soeren. At least the grills keep unwanted bird droppings, grass seeds, cigarette ash (if I smoked- but I don't) and other unwanted particles outside the tank, when it's in action. ;) So, at least they're functional :lolno:
If you look at my Tamiya Jagdpanther project, you'll see correctly fitted grills

Half-blue faces, Herman? You mean like us Braveheart types- or maybe some old-fart who's braving cold weather, in order to enjoy a reasonably well-appointed budget tank? :lolno: :D

For those who might be wondering what puzzled Soeren, this is how the PE grills should be fitted to Panther and Jagdpanther if you're lucky enough to have them.
This is how I fitted them to the Jagdpanther. 8|
Fitting them correctly, extra (upper) frame parts would have been needed from HL to sandwich the grills in properly- as per the Tamiya diag.. Still, I ain't complaining, as this was never meant for the usual scratch-build scrutiny. It's just a runner :lolno: But...t.t.t...their RTR models are getting much better
