Another upgrade! Today I received the warm white LEDs that I ordered and I’ve installed them and I’m very happy with the realistic look they provide. Much better than the horrible blue LEDs. I seldom drive it with the headlights on but on the occasion that I do I want them to be a fairly realistic color. I also had to make my throttle stick self centering after all. I tried it but I just couldn’t get the hang of a loose throttle.
Oh, I also changed over from the huge XT90 connectors to the smaller XT30s. Much better and my shrink tubing fits them. Unfortunately I blew up one of my 2 cell Li Ion battery packs When I accidentally spanned both + and - with my soldering iron. Damn!! Smoke and fire actually happened. I almost pissed my pants a little. I’ve GOT to be more careful and slow down when doing stuff like that. Only thing I saved was the balance connector. Lesson learned.

Pretty much any connectors should do for our tanks (even the horrible Tamiya ones). at 1/16th scale our tanks rarely draw 15A of continuous current, which is what Tamiya connectors are supposedly good for. XT90's for the huge 6S-8S powered RC cars that draw stupid amounts of current (Traxxas' can handle 60A continuous).

As for the Lipo issue. Lesson learned and you'll never do that again! :) Thankfully a minor incident.

The tracks pass muster with ease (though- without further work- the driver side more so); but I can't take my eyes off the finish on those deck tools. :O They're amazing.

Cool. I had to pop off the light covers and enlarge the hole In the mounting shaft for the wires to fit better. The LEDs are small but there sure isn’t much room inside those light housings. Now to adjust the headlight intensity setting so they aren’t too bright or too dim. Gotta love the Elmod parameter settings

They are definitely inexpensive! I bought a pack of 100 3mm flat hat warm white pre wired LEDs for just $2.99 plus one dollar for shipping. Now I need to figure out other ways to use the remaining 98 lights! If anybody on my side of the Atlantic needs some just pm me.
